Hello 2011...
A Big Funny Welcome to 2011
Hello to all you comedy fans (and people to have just come along to the club)
Please read below to read about what is on this week, plus some of the highlights for the coming month and a few specials we have to offer this season
First off... this weekend
2011 is here amongst us and we are ready to start providing the laughs starting this weekend with the brialliant Phil Nichol as headliner. If you don't know who he is, then you should come along and find out. One of the most energetic and silly performers around. He has won the Edinburgh Comedy Award, done loads of TV and is one the best headliners in the country.
On with him is Matt Reed, a brilliant Geordie hairy man and Josh Howie, a very amusing tall and skinny man from North london. Your compere is top notch organiser and club runner, Mr Darrell Martin
You can see these shows on 7th January and 8th January.
COMING UP THIS MONTH:
14th - 16th January
Steve Hughes - a brilliantly dark and hilarious Australian madman. You may have seen this fellow on that show called McIntyre's Roadshow. 'Invigorating…his bullsh*t-free take on the world is compelling and pungent'.**** Edinburgh Guide. This bloke is amazing! You can see him on 14th / 15th / 16th January. Click the dates. Appearing with him on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th are the mysterious Nik Helm and the very stupid Duncan Oakley. Compere is Darrell Martin. On Sunday 16th Steve is doing an extended set, plus you may get some new material from a unnanounced guest you may recognise from the box.
21st -23rd January
Rob Deering / Isy Suttie / Jarred Christmas / Carey MarxWhat can we say about these shows. Absolutely amazing. Friday 21st you get Rob Deering, Isy Suttie (Dobby from Peep Show), Carey Marx with the brialliant Jarred Christmas compering (you will recognise him as the bloke with the big chops on the Pot Noodle advert, we know him as the best compere around). On Saturday 22nd you get the same, but no Isy. We have Chris Martin instead.
Sunday 23rd January we let Jarred Christmas do an extended headline set. A very nice treat. He will supported by Josh Widdicombe with Caroline Maybe as compere. A thoroughly good niught out at our legendary Sunday Night Socials...come on
28th and 29th January - Surprise Guest
We've got someone booked that we are not allowed to announce. He's going on tour and we've said we are keeping it hush hush. Do not come expecting one the stadium fillers though. he's great, you should recognise him. On with him are Jason John Whitehead, he was with us on New Year's Eve, the laid back Canadian. Also we have Gordon Southern... a right old trouper that we've been booking for years. Darrell Martin is your host with the most... Friday 28th / Saturday 29th
A few of our names and their faces in February

COMING SOON
Doug Stanhope (10th April) - this bloke is a cult comedian phenomenon. We are very very lucky to have him on here. A rare visit over from the States. Tickets go on sale on 10th January. There will be a link from our website through to the promoters. Unfortunately they have set a price at £19 a ticket and I bet they put a booking fee on. (Sometimes I can't argue). But we all get to see Doug Stanhope in Nottingham though.
Rufus Hound - 18th March / 19th March / 15th May - you know the bloke, he is on your tele a lot. Buzzcocks, Argumental, Famous and Fearless, a brilliant comedian, he hosted our summer special at The Concert Hall. He was booked to do one of our shows in our launch month, but TV took him away. We made him an offer he couldn't refuse, and he's back.
Rich Fulcher (AKA Bob Fossil) (22nd May) - you may not recognise the name, but you will recognise the face. he is the other one from the Mighty Boosh (and yes, we have asked Noel, I ask him monthly). His show in Edinburgh was absolutely ace.
Keep your eyes and ear peeled for more of the good stuff.....
