Pippa Evans is a one of the best character comedians we've seen for a long time. She was hand picked by the Pleasance Edinburgh to perform in The 2006 Comedy Reserve, was runner-up in the 2008 Hackney Empire new act final, and a finalist in Funny Women the same year.
Her characters are misfits; lonely, losers. Most memorable is Loretta Maine - a highly troubled American singer-songwriter.
Pippa often uses music to enhance her comedy. She says ‘I don’t know if I was funny as a child, though I always thought my parents really enjoyed listening to me sing. But my mum revealed the other day that I was a real pain in the arse because I insisted that they watched me do shows where I charged them 50p to come into the front room.’
