At the 2010 New Zealand International Comedy Festival, Rhys was written into Kiwi comedy history when he was awarded the highly coveted Billy T Award with his show Rhyspect, making him the youngest ever recipient at only 19 years of age. On home turf, he has written and appeared on the Comedy Gala (TV3), Christmas Gala (TV2), AoteoroHA (TV3) and 7 Days (TV3), New Zealand’s equivalent of Mock The Week.
Now resident in the UK, Rhys has been nominated by Time Out as one of the Top 10 Edinburgh Newcomers 2013 and supported Pete Firman and The Boy With Tape on His Face on tour. He has recently filmed Funniest Moments of 2013 (Channel 4) and recorded Radio 4 Extra Stands Up (Radio 4 Extra) with more to come in the new year. He has also written on pilots for Hat Trick and Wall to Wall.
