Hello All You Comedy People
We have got a lot to talk about this week, what with a load of free tickets to give away, some tour dates on and some pretty special announcements including our new club and Rich Hall doing Setlist with us. We have been given a pair of tickets for Jerry Seinfeld in Birmingham to give away, Russell Kane in Nottingham and we thought we'd give away a few Glenn Wool tickets for this Thursday as well. Competitions below... but first...
WE'VE GOT A NEW COMEDY CLUB IN LEICESTER
Woo Hoo! for the Leicester based and surrounding area type people of the Midlands. We are expanding to Leicester. We are taking over the former 'highlights' venue above Walkabout. It is all ready to go, all we have to do is get the advertising out, get the acts and get the people in. If you live in and around Leicester please help us get the word out. Forward this, or email me and let me know how you could help. It is going to be brilliant. We promise reasonably priced drinks and tickets! Launches early March.
IT'S GOOD FOR NOTTINGHAM AND LEICESTER
We can now offer comedians 2 gigs a night. So, we have Milton Jones in March at both venues, Sean Hughes and Tom Stade at both venues. We will be having a few other things like that. So, it's good news all round. Brilliant. Leicester launches 1st weekend in March CLICK HERE for what we have confirmed so far. Just the Tonic is getting better and better!
NOTTINGHAM THIS WEEK
Tuesday 17th January

Josie Long - The Future is Another Place
IF you are into comedy then you owe it to yourself to see this tour show. This is waht some press said about the show in Edinburgh: 'strikes and adroit balance between fun, moral outrage and indignant mockery of our hideous powers-that-be' The Guardian. "It's honest, intelligent, funny, and it's exactly what Britain needs right now... Josie Long is poised to become the most important voice in British comedy" THE SKINNY
I really can't recommend Josie enough. Just brilliant

THIS WEEKEND... 2 NIGHTS OF MONSTROUS FUN!
Friday 20th Jan and Saturday 21st Jan we have gone totally overboard on the booking and got 3 very strong headline to fill the bill. Thankfully leaving little work for the compere
Mick Ferry - Northern bloke that's done loads of TV. (admittedly this is a crap picture)
Proper jokes, proper comedian. A total stormer whenever he is here.
Piff The Magic Dragon - as seen on Pennand Teller last year.

Where he stole the show. Did a Sunday night for us in October that sold out. Come and see him do a short set. Bloody marvellous
Nige - Scouse dole merchant, druggie and all round bad sort brings his charm and songs to Nottingham. We love him here at Just the Tonic and have been looking forward to his return for ages.

RICH HALL IN SETLIST COMING TO NOTTINGHAM
We have managed to bag the cult hit show from last years Edinburgh Festival. it's called SETLIST and is with us on 1st February. It was at our venue in Edinburgh and had people like Frank Skinner, Dave Gorman, Jimmy Carr, Phil Jupitus lining up to do it. Here's the official blurb:
A Whose Line Is It Anyway?-style challenge for stand-up comedy! Comedy pros are handed an original, never-before-seen set list of topics, partially written by the audience. From this they create spontaneous, original stand-up on the spot. Each new set list is projected onscreen, so the audience follows along and gets inside the minds of comedians to see how each crafts their own particular style of comedy right in the moment of creation. A playground for the comedy brain! Performers include Rich Hall with more added over the coming days. Read all about it
Tickets for this are only £12 at the moment, but will go up a bit when we confirm any massive names, so book em early! Click here for tickets

Hailed as “the master stand-up comic of his generation” and “the best comedian of our time” in a Washington Post article by Tom Shales, Seinfeld has an uncanny ability to joke about the little things in life that relate to audiences everywhere.
