Collum Tyrell

Colum is an Irish Comedian who has been based in NYC since 2014.

Having started his career in Ireland, Colum’s talents quickly became known on the Irish circuit as he became a finalist in the national broadcast TV show RTE New Comedy Awards (2012).

In the same year he won the new act competitions Show Me The Funny and The All-Ireland College And University Inter-varsity competition. This put him in front of promoters and the comedy industry of Ireland and led to him supporting Kevin Bridges at the Galway Comedy Festival.

His outstanding performance at the Galway Comedy Festival led to him being booked at Electric Picnic and The Iveagh Gardens Comedy Festival. He also found himself being hand-picked to support Jason Byrne, Lee Mack, Steve Hughes and Andrew Maxwell.

As well as the RTE New Comedy awards, Colum has appeared on RTE’s Republic of Telly and was chosen as one of the main subjects of the TV3 documentary The Stand Up’s.

On the rise and wanting to better himself as a comic he took the plunge and moved to the stand-up Mecca of the world, New York City. After some long, hard grueling work Colm has started to gain significant recognition in the New York comedy industry. He can now be seen performing at prestigious clubs such as The Stand, New York Comedy Club, Stand-Up New York and LOL Comedy Club amongst many others. Colum’s debut Edinburgh Fringe show 2016, received some critical acclaim including 4 star review from Kate Copstick w/ The Scotsman.

In September 2016 Colum sold out iconic Dublin venue Whelans.
