Richard Stott
Originating from Hull, Richard is a comedian, writer and actor. Richard’s credits include The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2) and The Nihal Arthanayake Show (BBC Radio 5 Live). He has also written for The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4).
Richard performed his first show, Wretched, at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Camden Fringe. He subsequently performed his debut comedy show, Right Hand Man, at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe during which he was listed in Dave’s Top 10 Funniest Jokes. He also performed his critically-acclaimed show, Afterparty, at the 2022 Edinburgh and had two of his jokes listed in The Times’s Best Jokes of the Fringe. NextUp Comedy have filmed both of Richard’s shows – Right Hand Man is currently available to watch. Richard has also performed at the Leicester Comedy Festival, Bedfringe, Machfest and Guildford Fringe. Richard was a semi-finalist in the 2021 New Comedian of the Year competition.
As an actor and voiceover artist, Richard has worked for Swinton Insurance and The Globe amongst others. He trained as an actor at the Drama Studio London. He also completed a degree in Theatre Studies & English at the University of Manchester
