James Acaster began performing stand up comedy in January 2008, he has since developed into a hugely engaging and exciting comedian, performing all over the country and establishing himself as one of the most exciting new acts on the circuit.
From September 2010 James supported Josie Long for the whole of her 2010 UK tour. In the Spring and Summer of 2011 James supported Milton Jones on his national tour, playing to over 100,000 people across the UK.
He won Off The Kerb's Laughing Boy New Act in June 2010 and then came 3rd in the Latitude New Act Competition the following month where he performed to over 4,000 people. In August 2010 he performed as part of BBC's 'Stand Up in the Street' during the Edinburgh festival. James has appeared on Russell Howards Good News (BBC Three),
Dave’s One Night Stand and Chris Addison’s Show and Tell (E4).
His set often features story telling, audience interaction and routines about not being particularly cool. He is from the town of Kettering but is based in London. They are both cool in their own way.
